  16. whether this is a plausible problem source, but under Linux another
  17. common source of lost IRQs are IDE disk/adapter/driver combinations
  18. hogging CPU time while having the IRQs disabled.

  20. Check the man page for "hdparm" for hints on how to deal with IDE
  21. trouble.
